How does Ndigo deal with bullying?
At Ndigo there is no place for bullying, discrimination or boundary-crossing behaviour. This applies in class, at camps and competitions, and online too.
What is bullying?
Bullying means deliberately and repeatedly hurting, belittling or excluding someone. Discrimination based on background, religion, gender or appearance is also bullying. “It was only a joke” is no excuse.
How do you report bullying?
Tell your teacher or camp leader.
Tell your parents.
Email info@ndigo.be, even if you have only noticed signs and are not sure.
Speaking up is not telling tales.
What happens after a report?
You will hear from us within a week. We talk to the dancers involved separately, inform the parents and follow up after two weeks. If the bullying continues, there is first a warning and then permanent exclusion. Serious incidents lead to immediate permanent exclusion.
The whole group shares responsibility
Anyone who watches, laughs along or goes along with the bully leaves the bullied dancer on their own.
